About

I am a freelance semi-professional nature photographer with a diverse portfolio consisting of birds, mammals, landscapes, etc. I am also an educator, holding a Ph.D. in Management and teaching various university courses in business and statistics. I utilize my teaching skills to lead one-to-one and/or small group photography courses for beginning and intermediate level photographers.

I have been calling Georgia home since July 2013 but I am originally native to South Texas and was fortunate to spend my youth tromping around in the brush country. I’ve visited, lived in, and worked in the big city, but I’m happiest when I am outdoors, whether that is the Pines of Georgia, the brush of South Texas, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the timber of the Midwest, or the Desert Southwest of Arizona.

My photography interests began as a young teen with a very focused interest in whitetail deer but it didn’t become a serious passion until 2004 when I participated in my first Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photo Competition. I competed in 3 photo competitions over the next few years, enjoying success in each of them. These competitive experiences helped open my eye to the abundance of photographic subjects that I had taken for granted in my youth.

Today, I try to capture the beauty and uniqueness of the flora and fauna wherever my photographic adventures take me. So, follow my blog, enjoy my posts, visit my websites, and let me take you on a vicarious photographic adventure that is sure to be wild.

Thanks for visiting.

While nature photography is my first passion, I’ve also turned my lens to people portraiture and have been pursuing that passion since 2005.

    • Hi Dina,
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the blog. I hope you’ve had time to browse through the history. There may be some other things of interest there. I hope to post images and tidbits here and there that others find helpful.

      • Sounds good Dina. Enjoy your Easter. I took a look at some of the North country, looks like a place I’ll have to visit someday for some wonderful photo ops.
